The Rotary Club of Everett appreciates your interest in our Club.  We believe you will find Rotary a rich, rewarding, and enlightening experience.  Rotarians are very interested in service above self, and our club has a rich history of doing good work, having fun, and making a difference in this community.

 

This sheet outlines some of the obligations and expectations of Rotary and provides you with a broad overview of the club’s activities. 

 

Our club was organized on December 15^th, 1916.  It’s one of the oldest clubs in the United States.  There are over 30,000 clubs in the world all dedicated to serving the communities in which they operate.  All clubs are affiliated with Rotary International - you can learn more about Rotary International at www.Rotary.org.

 

Members should have high ethical standards in business and follow the Rotary Four-Way Test:

 

1.  Is it the truth?            

2.  Is it fair to all concerned?    

3.  Will it build good will and better friendships?   

4.  Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

 

The club meets each Tuesday at noon at Hotel Indigo on the Everett waterfront, 1028 13^th St, Everett.   Club meetings are designed to educate and engage members on a variety of topics throughout the year, and last an hour or so. 

 

The club’s activities are run through committees to ensure that each member is engaged in some form of service to the club and community.  Committee meetings are scheduled at times convenient for the committee members. 

 

Fellowship activities include happy hours, dinners, conferences, golf outings, and a number of events designed to get members to socialize outside of the normal meeting time.

 

Once you’ve been inducted into the club, there is a series of three orientation meetings (called “Wheeler’s Meetings”) designed to provide you with a full orientation to the club.  After you’ve completed these meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to give a three minute talk to the club that is your chance to let the membership know more about you and your business.

 

 

Members are encouraged to attend Rotary meetings weekly.  If for some reason you cannot make it to a meeting, you can attend another club’s meeting (or do a make-up online) and turn in a form to our club so credit for attendance can be given.  Multiple opportunities for “make-ups” are available, and for special circumstances, leaves of absence are granted by the club’s Board of Directors.

 

The club is able to fund the various projects through a combination of locally generated funds, contributions from the community, grants, and distributions from Rotary International.  Club members are expected to meet the following financial obligations:

 

1.  Initiation fee (one time only)              $175

      Or Corporate Membership                   $250 (one time only)

2.  Annual Dues                                                $425 – paid in semi-annual amounts in June and December

      Or Corporate Membership                   $600 – paid in semi-annual amounts in June and December

3.  Paul Harris contribution                       $100 -  paid in semi-annual amounts in June and December

4.  Rotary Annual Fundraiser                    $350 – required minimum

      Corporate members                               $500 – required minimum

5.  Lunches (optional)                                  $25-$35 – pay directly to Jetty Grill. Drink, tax & tip incl.

 

Other financial contributions are encouraged:

1.  Rotary Youth Foundation contributions are welcomed at any time.

2.  Weekly drawings at lunch - $5 for 10 tickets.

3.  Birthday Bucks – a contribution on or near your birthday (your age = dollars contributed).              

4.  Happy (or Sad) Dollars - $2 or more for announcements about you, your family, or other events.

5.  Community Service Announcements - $20 for any fundraising type of announcement or

promotion not directly related to the club’s activities.

6.  Attendance cost at Rotary events at the regional or national level.
